JC Chavis

 Mr. JC Chavis of Lumberton, NC was born April 26, 1935. He entered into his heavenly home on February 22,2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dixon and Lila Chavis, his siblings; Myrtle Hardin (Fred); Henry Chavis (Letha); and Franklin Chavis (Francis), Grandchildren; Jessica, Joshua & Jasmine Jones, and son-in-law Kendrick Locklear.

Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years Annie Ruth Chavis of the home; his beautiful daughters Belinda Jones, (Jimmy), Linda Locklear, Sandy Oxendine, (Ray), Lisa Stone, (Tommy), his adopted son Jimmy Hunt, (Rose), Grandchildren, that he loved with all his heart Hope Locklear, Beonca Jones, Hannah Douglas, Joseph Hunt, Selena Chavis, Dakota Oxendine, Steiner Oxendine, Tommy Stone Jr, & Toby Stone, Great Grandchildren Nolan Hunt, Braylen Hunt, Nyla Douglas, Adelynn Hunt, Greyson Souza, Quinn Stone, Amadeus Locklear, Rowan Stone & Rylee Oxendine.

JC was a faithful member of Pleasant View Baptist Church of Fairmont NC. He served as a faithful deacon for many years; he was a member of the brotherhood and also served as his Sunday School secretary; he sang with the adult choir for many years. Brother JC blessed our souls with his favorites: The Old Ship of Zion and Ain’t It Sweet To Be Saved. If he ever got a chance to witness to you he did with love and compassion. His heart was to win the lost to Christ.
